Where we reference professional estimates (such as lawyer fee ranges), we explain how those figures were compiled on our Methodology page.

Writing and Review Process

Each guide follows a structured process:

1. Research: The writer gathers primary source material and cross-references multiple official publications.
2. Drafting: Content is written in plain language, keeping legal terms accompanied by clear explanations.
3. Review: A second member of the editorial team checks the article for legal accuracy, currency, and readability.
4. Publication: The article goes live with source citations and a "last reviewed" date.
